Taylor County Middle School

Hi, I am Alicia (York) Beshears, a Taylor County native and proud graduate of TCHS c/o 1989. I currently serve as the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction for Taylor County Middle School. Upon graduation I attended North Florida Community College and earned my AA degree. From there I transferred to Florida A&M University and received my BS degree in Elementary Education. After teaching for many years at Perry Primary I returned to graduate school and attained my MS in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. During those years I also became certified in Middle Grades English, obtained my ESOL and Reading Endorsements and spent many years as an English teacher here at TCMS. My first job as an administrator began in 2011 when I served as the Assistant Principal of TCHS.

While I enjoyed my six years in the upper level grades, I am glad to be back in the world of middle school. Many people say middle school years are the toughest, but they happen to be my favorite. Think about how awesome the years in the "middle" are, how this is such a pivotal time in these students' lives where they are moving from young adolescents to young adulthood.

I am excited to be a part of these formative years, but I also know what every middle-schooler needs: a team. That's right, these students need a special group of people in their corner. So it will indeed take all of us, after all, we have all been blessed with different talents, strengths and abilities. An African proverb reads, "It takes a village to raise a child". Truer words have never been spoken. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time during the year if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions. We need you to be part of our village!
